Daffy Wallk now Fully Paved

Following the appalling weather this spring, which left the Daffy Walk virtually inpassable due to the very slipery muddy conditions, The Daffy walk has now been paved for its full length.

2008 Farndale Show Cancelled

Due to exceptional rain which fell on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th August the decision has regretfully been taken to cancel the Farndale Show due as the Showfield is Waterlogged. The Show committee sincerely apologise but it is due to circumstances beyond their control

101st FARNDALE SHOW TO GO AHEAD AS PLANNED

At a special meeting of the Farndale Show Committee last night 14th August 2007, to consider the current Foot and Mouth situation it has been decided that the 101st Farndale Show will go ahead as planned, on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August 2007. Livestock classes (cows, sheep and goats) and hound trails are being cancelled.

Horse and Pony, Small Animal (Rabbits, Cavies and Ferrets), Poultry and Fowl, Pigeon and Dog classes will be going ahead. As are all non animal classes. All entries by 18th August.

Additional free entry “Fun Events” are being introduced this year including Tug-O-War (teams of 6), Bale Rolling (teams of 2) and Egg Throwing. Other ring events include: Bird of Prey display, Heavy Horse Display, Gymkhana and Vintage. Attractions also include the Bilsdale Silver Band, ferret roulette and terrier racing.

Admission charges to the show which is held on the Show filed at Church Houses, Farndale and opens to the public at 10am is just £3 for adults and £1 for children. Car parking on Show field is £3 with free parking available nearby.

The Farndale is a traditional small dales show in the stunning stting of the North Yorkshire Moors and is always a great day out for the whole family.

3rd May 2007 - Ryedale District Council Elecion Results ~ Dales Ward ~ Janet Frank (Conservative) elected with 372 votes a majority of 105 over former counciller Nelly Tevelyan (Liberal). The turnout was 58.51%.
